Web App: UrlTweets

This item was filed under [ web apps ]

UrlTweets is a web utility that will display only tweets that contained links/urls that appeared in your own timeline. Tweet out to @vkoser for the tip.

Features:

  • easy UI
  • choose summarization period (1-24 hours)
  • shows thumbnail view of links using snap shots
  • ability to tweet a reply
  • ability to send links to Instapaper

The Good:

UrlTweets is easy to use and does a great job of helping keep track of the multitude of links that come to your timeline every day. Twitter login info is required, but security issues have been addressed. The ability to send links to Instapaper for later reading is a nice feature.

The Not-so-Good:

There isn’t much not to like about UrlTweets, but for each 200 tweets checked for URLs UrlTweets uses one API call up to a maximum of 10 calls. After 10 calls, however, the pagination is stopped to save API hits so you can check backward up to 2000 tweets in the last 24 hours. UrlTweets is still developing, so more features may come in the future.
