Web App: Tweetree
Tweetree is a web app that enhances the standard twitter UI by pulling links, photos and videos into the stream for viewing immediately without having to click on several times.
Features:
- simple UI based on twitter (even pulls in your twitter background while on the home tab)
- pulls up links, photos and videos for viewing while in your timeline
- allows for search and saved search as well as @reply and viewing original post
- shows tweets and @replies
The Good:
The best feature by far on Tweetree is being able to view llinks, photos and videos right there, in the timeline. Works like a charm, and supports Flickr, YouTube, TwitPic, Seesmic, FriendFeed, Qik, Lala, Blip.fm and Xkcd.
The Not-so-Good:
Is Tweetree a replacement for the twitter website? Maybe. It does what it does brilliantly, but like every other app on the planet, it doesn’t do everything. There are many little things Tweetree doesn’t do (like auto-refresh, follow/unfollow, view multiple accounts or friends/followers and retweet, for example), but some of those are already planned for further releases.
