Web App: Tweebay

This item was filed under [ web apps ]

Tweebay is a new web app that is a “free way to buy and sell stuff using the power of Twitter.”

Features:

  • users can post items for sale
  • bidding on items, watching items and viewing sellers

The Good:

Is Tweebay a rudimentary clone of eBay? Perhaps. Users have 240 characters to describe their items and can upload one photo. Your Twitter password is never asked for. So, you can buy and sell stuff using Tweebay and Twitter, if that interests you.

The Not-so-Good:

By asking users for their Twitter usernames only, verification of identity and items is accomplished via Twitter DM. Tweebay just launched, so there are very few items listed for sale right now. That will probably change. Also, the grammar police may pay a visit…
