Mobile App: PockeTwit

This item was filed under [ mobile apps ]

PockeTwit is a mobile app for Windows Mobile 6 smartphones that supports multiple Twitter and Identi.ca accounts.

Features:

  • unique (almost iPhone-like) UI
  • supports multiple Twitter and Identi.ca accounts
  • map view shows users on world map and allows searching by region
  • URL shortening with is.gd
  • send photos to TwitPic
  • integration with Twitter search
  • clickable @names, URLs and #hashtags
  • different themes

The Good:

The UI for PockeTwit is fantastic, giving the smartphone an almost iPhone-like feel when using it. Users can find all the information they need about tweets in their timeline, @replies and DM, follow/unfollow, re-tweet and mark favorites. Updates can be posted from any user account. The search feature works well and the map feature is interesting.

The Not-so-Good:

As great as the UI is for PockeTwit, it can take a little while to get used to. Tweets from all accounts seem to show in the same presentation and that can take some figuring out as well. Other than that, there is little to complain about.
