Web App: twiddict

This item was filed under [ web apps ]

twiddict is a web app that allows users who are addicted to Twitter to continue to type tweets and queue them while Twitter may be experiencing downtime.

Features:

  • create and queue tweets while Twitter is down
  • publishes tweets once Twitter resumes
  • gives notification of Twitter’s status

The Good:

twiddict is a great little app that can take care of your tweets while Twitter is down (which can happen from time to time). You can also post tweets from twiddict while Twitter is running fine, and they get posted immediately. The folks at twiddict promise to protect twitter login info, and they have a sense of humor too.

The Not-so-Good:

The functionality of twiddict is limited to queuing tweets for posting later when Twitter is down or posting tweets immediately. There is no way to view your own (or anyone else’s) timeline or to track tweets sent. Having said that, it does exactly what it says it will do rather well.
