Web App: Twiffid

This item was filed under [ web apps ]

Twiffid is a web app that allows users to view the headlines of the websites their Twitter friends are blogging about.

Features:

  • login with Twitter credentials
  • view headlines of websites mentioned by those followed on Twitter
  • RSS feed available

The Good:

If you want to know what the people you follow are blogging about on Twitter (or what websites they are referencing), then Twiffid is the app for you. The homepage also shows a list of most-clicked headlines.

The Not-so-Good:

The utility of Twiffid seems a bit limited. It does provide a single venue for viewing the blog entry titles of those you follow on Twitter, but that’s it. A fair amount of real estate is taken up on Twiffid with self-promotion (including a tweet promoting Twiffid you will send out from your account if you forget to unclick the checkbox). That’s fine, as long as there is value apparent.
