Web App: TweetCube

TweetCube is a web app that allows users to upload and share files via Twitter.

Features:

  • upload files (max 10MB) to Twitter in any of .zip, .rar, .pdf, .jpg, .png, .gif, .mp3 or .txt
  • create tweet to accompany file and post update to Twitter

The Good:

If you need to share or make available a file in the supported formats and you don’t mind the entire Twitterverse having access to that file, then TweetCube is the app for you.

The Not-so-Good:

Two things crossed our minds as we took TweetCube for a test-drive: (1) it is another app where login is via Twitter credentials, and no assurances are given about protecting that information, and (2) we experienced a major fail in that TweetCube wouldn’t upload any files for us. We visited on different occasions and we even let our guard down (risky, but hey, sometimes you have to live on the edge); couldn’t get it to upload. We will try again, but we aren’t holding our breath.
