Web App: Twitsay

This item was filed under [ web apps ]

Twitsay is a web app that allows users to call a local number and leave 10 seconds of voice message as a tweet.

Features:

  • register for a Twitsay account
  • Twitter username and password required
  • make a local call and leave up to 10 seconds of recorded message
  • recorded message link is posted to your Twitter account and to Twitsay’s timeline

The Good:

Twitsay provides a novel way to tweet with audio. After registering for an account, the procedure is much the same as leaving a voicemail message. That message is then posted as a tweet to your Twitter account and to Twitsay’s timeline. The audio tweets are also downloadable.

The Not-so-Good:

Twitsay works like a charm, but we felt there are a couple of issues to bear in mind. Firstly, your Twitter username and password are required and although Twitsay does not have a stated privacy policy it does state that your data will be encrypted and stored in their database. Secondly, the audio tweets posted via Twitsay show up with a hashtag and time/date stamp only, and so, in Twitsay’s timeline they are anonymous.
