Web App: Twitalyzer

This item was filed under [ web apps ]

Twitalyzer is a web app that allows users to generate comprehensive analytics about any given Twitter user.

Features:

  • simple web UI requires Twitter username to begin analysis
  • results automatically published to Twitter, unless you opt-out
  • measures influence, signal-to-noise ratio, generosity, velocity and clout in Twitter

The Good:

Twitalyzer provides a detailed analysis of a variety of factors of a user’s Twitter behavior. It also provides detailed explanations of its process and the meaning of the data it generates. The graphical analysis Twitalyzer produces is also very helpful and appealing. Tips are also provided on how to increase one’s influence in Twitter.

The Not-so-Good:

While Twitalyzer provides interesting and detailed information, sometimes it feels like almost too much information. The metrics used to measure can also seem a little arbitrary (influence is directly related to only number of followers, for example). If these things really matter to you, and you get a low score, you might get a bit disappointed.
