Nambu Touch is an iPhone® Twitter client that also integrates FriendFeed and Ping.fm.

Features:

  • all Twitter operations supported

  • translation of foreign language messages

  • avatars supported

The Good:

Nambu Touch for the iPhone® follows on the Nambu Network Inc.’s Nambu for Mac OSX 10.5+. It has a good-looking UI and supports just about every Twitter operation you could want, down to searching and tagging specific users for filtering/following. Submission via Ping.fm is a nice feature.

The Not-so-Good:

Nambu Touch is a very promising application that already supports many useful features. It is compatible with the iPhone® and iPod Touch™ with the iPhone 2.1 software update. Also, be aware that it costs $1.99 at the App Store.

Mobile App: Twitterfon

Twitterfon is a fast, simple Twitter client for the iPhone® and iPod Touch®. Its own PR material states it is “focused on 80% of your tasks in Twitter such as viewing friends/replies/messages in the timeline and also sending/replying tweets.” We aren’t sure what happened to the other 20%, but when we find out, we’ll let you know. ♦

Twinkle is a location-aware network for the iPhone® and iPod Touch® that helps you discover, connect, and send messages to the public timeline and also to people nearby.

Features:

  • geolocation to find “twinkers” in your area
  • runs as stand-alone or along with Twitter
  • upload and share photos

The Good:

Twinkle can run as a stand-alone app or in conjunction with Twitter (you can toggle Twitter on/off). The focus of Twinkle is the geolocation feature which allows users to see “twinks” from other users in their geographical area. Uploading photos is supported as well. All of the usual Twitter operations are also present.

The Not-so-Good:

Twinkle is a fine application, but if you are not interested in viewing tweets/twinks from people in your area, then it doesn’t really add anything to your Twitter experience.
